Foiled oil!
Jul. 18th, 2002 10:45 pmOr foiled oil changing at least! I've been trying for two weeks to get my oil changed, and the dealership is just so insanely busy, tonight at 5pm was the only time they could get me in. So I leave work at 4:10pm. I have to get home, medicate the kitten, get to the Saturn dealership by 5pm, then get back downtown by 6:30pm for a class. You can just guess...a wreck on literally every route between downtown and the apartment. My 15 minute drive (25 in traffic) took me over an hour. I called Saturn, rescheduled the oil change, and went home to collapse for what little time I could.
I finally make it to my class, only to find I'm magically not on the roster! Auugh! Thankfully, and to my surprise, the instructor is my new boss, the new department chair. She let me stay anyway, then afterwards encouraged me to contact Family Workplace Connection to see about teaching classes too. Like I don't teach enough now? *flop* Dean was waiting downstairs for me, having taken the late train, and we came home and ordered pizza.
Delivery pizza is one of the world's most glorious inventions. It is the savior of all who eschew the kitchen when it is hot as hell outside, and the day has been long and difficult. It's also just good when laziness is, but that's beside the point. So not only do we have this incredible ease of convenience of someone bringing perfectly good junk food straight to my door, someone went and made it so I can order said food on the Internet! My heros! No miscommunication with the phone person, no 'large orange drink' syndrome! Hallelujah!
On another food-related note: I had sushi for lunch today for the first time. Granted, cooked shrimp in seaweed and rice, but I do love me some wasabi!
Not about food: The cats got introduced tonight. No yowling, no hissing! Figaro was in fact quite curious about the kitten, who was just as curious back so long as someone was holding him. It's a start! Yaay!
Tomorrow's Friday, and this is good. Every day should be Friday.
