I've spent the last two days just feeling generally icky. Dean's been out and out sick as a dog, and thankfully I don't have his sneezles. Still, I've got another of those multiple-day headaches, and this one seems primarily sinus related, plus the tummy has been distinctly unhappy for a while. It really feels like I never got over that last cold with the Fever That Wouldn't Die. Anyway, I had yesterday off work as a vacation day, and I'm glad I did. I stayed home and slept most of the day, then went and had my oil changed in the car. They also fixed the rear brake light that wasn't working, which I appreciate.

Part of the problem is likely the weather. Saturday was chill central, then Sunday was gorgeous. I went grocery shopping without a coat, even! Then yesterday morning I wake up about 8am, look outside, and it's SNOWING. Snow. In April. I haven't seen that since I lived 9000 feet up in the Rocky Mountains! I decided right then and there I needed to go back to sleep, so I did. Even then, I was kind of groggy most of the day except for like an hour after I took ibuprofen. Then I went right back to being groggy. Today looks to be much the same, except I've got to work until 10pm tonight. Let me say how I'm not looking forward to that particular bit of joy. :P

Mom called last night. For once we didn't discuss Eric, although that might have been more chipper. My grandfather had a stroke on Saturday, and it took a full day for them to locate any family. Of course, now that they have, -everyone- is there. Mom's flying out on Wednesday. Grandpa's left side isn't working real great, and he'll be in a home for a while for rehabilitation. Mom and Dad are trying to get him to move to Texas with them, but he's a stubborn old coot, and may well refuse. I hope he doesn't. My Grandpa, while opinionated, is a wonderful guy, and was my father figure for the first six years of my life. He kind of epitomizes the phrase 'Well, he -means- well!' Anyway, he should be fine, but it'll take time for him to get there. Maybe now he won't insist that Herbalife can cure anything. ;)

So basically I'm grumpy and hurting, and I want to curl up in bed with the cats, and pretend the world doesn't exist. Then again, as my father says, "Want in one hand, s*** in the other, and see which one fills up first."

Of course, Dad also will reply, when asked how he's doing, "Oh, every one I can, the easy ones twice." Dad's eccentric. Without the money. ;)
