Busy busy!
Aug. 18th, 2003 01:43 pmWhew! So much to do! So Friday night we went out celebrating the demise of our medical debt. Whee! Saturday morning I was regretting doing -quite- so much celebrating, particularly about 4am when I woke up with a splitting headache. Gulped down water, took a handful of ibuprofen, went back to bed. By the time I got up at 8am to get ready for my training class, I was bright eyed and bushy tailed! Well, if I had a tail, that is, and my eyes weren't horseshit brown. ;) Anyhow, you get the idea. I went on to the training class, and was bored out of my skull. Not that it was a bad class. It was well done, but at a -very- basic level. For goodness sake, I spent 8 years in college getting education degrees. I can design an entire curriculum for multiple levels. A basic introduction to curriculum was a snooze and a half. That and my headache came back halfway through. I headed home, slept off the headache with more Advil. Dean and I went to Chilis for dinner, and it was -really- nice. They have a new filet steak with a grilled portabello mushroom in a port wine sauce that's to die for! Run out and try it! Have it rare! You know you want your steak to moo at you! Ahem. Okay, so I'm the only weirdo who likes steak still mooing. Don't look, Mom!
Yeah, I'm rambly today!
Sunday we spent lazing around at home, mostly. I braved Walmart and Happy Harry's in the -nasty- awful heat and humidity. Laundry got done, trash got taken out, brownies were baked, and enchiladas were made for dinner. Next time, I'm using a third can of enchilada sauce. Two cans, my ass. Dry enchiladas are not a happy thing. Played a lot of Civ III, because I'm still addicted after all this time.
This morning I had my interview with Kelly Staffing Services, which hires all the subs for -multiple- school districts in the area. They hired me, which I expected. The whole teaching certificate makes people happy, for some reason. I got my physical and PPD (tuberculosis) test done this morning before the interview, and I need to go get my FBI fingerprinting done again. My blood pressure was up, but all I had to say was 'interview in an hour', and the doctor just grinned and said that explained it easily. So even if the Allied Health thing doesn't pan out, I have this to fall back on until I find a real job or we head off to the wild blue Texan yonder. Work is bearable, even cheerful lately, but I'm not fooled. It could go back to hell at the drop of a hat, and I'm not dealing with it.
I got a flash drive! I -love- my flash drive! Best Buy, $30 for 64MB. Drool. Drool drool. I'm in love. Dean kicks ass for letting me get it! Thank you, honey!
And one very important thing I missed! Woe!
Happy Anniversary,
