Creeping Crud and Job Interviews
Sep. 23rd, 2003 07:23 pmYes, indeedy, we did survive the hurricane, and oddly, from our point of view, it was mainly just a nasty rainstorm. Now granted, I live on the second floor of a big apartment complex on top of what passes for one of the biggest hills in these parts. So really, we saw a lot of leaves blown off trees, broken branches, but not much flooding and not so much as a flicker to our power. I know full well how fortunate we are, and ... four day weekend! Yaaaaay! We were good though on Thursday and didn't go anywhere, for all that that it was just a pleasant windy day. The storm hit pretty hard Thursday night though. Mom called to ask if we'd drowned. I felt loved. ;)
Unfortunately, this is also about the time my antibiotics wore off. By yesterday, I sounded like a plague victim again, or Typhoid Lisa as Dean puts it. Time for another trip to the docs! He tossed me on a different antibiotic to get rid of the rest of the creeping crud, realized I hadn't taken any time off work, and promptly said I had today and tomorrow off, per doctor's note. Woohoo! More time off with valid excuses! Yay! Mainly, I'm fine and dandy so long as I don't move. So I'm stuck sleeping or playing on the computer. Oh. Ow. The agony. If this is torture, chain me to the wall!
But the best part of being home today! After going to the doctor's, I hit the grocery store. I've just gotten home, I'm putting away groceries, and the phone rings. Normally I ignore it and let the answering machine get it. The people who want to call me that don't want to sell me something call my cell phone. This time, on a whim, I answered. It was the campus director's office, calling to set up my final interview for the Allied Health position! I go talk to them at 1:30pm on Monday, 9/29, and hopefully that's the day I can give 2 weeks notice! Woohoo!
All around? A good, good day. :)
