Today was hectic as all getout. I updated timesheets, took minutes on the Budget Hearing (which since it was in Dover and I was in a big, dark room with lots of people listening to it on net-feed? Not so brilliant), then headed down to the Center to help Daniela with a couple big projects and pick up the last of my stuff.
Finally, I made it up to my new office again by 1pm with a small lunch, a big box of books and paperwork, and a serious need for a nap. ;) Okay, not so much for once, as I'm not really nappish, but I do want to just sit and zone for a few. Thankfully, the new boss, Carol, seems to think this is a good idea. She told me to sit and rest a bit, take my time for lunch, and not hurry. One of the things I love is that she recognizes that people have times of the day they're far more efficient during. I'm a morning person. I can get a ton of stuff done between 8-12, but after lunch, I turn into a sloth. She thought this was fantastic, as she's slow in the morning, and zooms through the afternoon, and pointed out that it was a good balance. I have to really appreciate this in a big way, rather than just expecting employees to be 110% for eight hours go-go-go. I'd rather get a full day's work done in six hours, and take the last two to work on one project slowly. Or play with LJ. Shhhh. ;) Anyhow, lunch is over in 5, so I'm off to surf the web, read my cartoons, and then get on to something actually work related.
