I went to the dentist today. Go me! It was vastly embarrassing though, since, um, it'd been a while. Last time I had a professional cleaning, I was 15. Then I had my wisdom teeth removed at 23. The Air Force checked my teeth out when I was 25 and found no cavities. That's it. That's my sum of dental care, aside from Crest and Listerine, for the last 17 years. So very sheepishly, I made an appointment and went in. It took a while, but the hygienest couldn't have been nicer, and there was only a couple tiny twinges of discomfort at the most, but even then, utterly dismissable. I do worse to myself frequently just scraping myself on a potato chip. Anyway, the end result was clean teeth, a diagnosis of minor gingivitis, and I have two teeth with tiny 'pits' in them (chips in the enamel that could become cavities.) I'm going back in a few weeks to have those two pits cleaned and sealed, and then I'm good to go. They were very pleased at just how little problems I have given how long it's been. All in all, it was a remarkably stress-free experience, lots of good people, very laid back and relaxed atmosphere. The dentist looked in my mouth, declared I had teeth, and said I was good to go. And then of course, he checked me out..but it made me laugh and that was nice.

Dean's medical foo went great on Wednesday, very little waiting, and we even got his bloodwork done. Tomorrow, Gepetto has his one year checkup at the vet. I think I'm tired of going to various doctors now though. ;)

Happy Friday, folks!
