Pfffft. Fizzle. We were supposed to get 3-6" of snow last night and wake up this morning to winter wonderland and possibly lots and lots of school cancelations. Pfffft. Riiight. The snow plows and salting trucks were out in force getting ready yesterday, so naturally we had pretty much a half inch dusting, clear roads, and mostly ice this morning. Now I'm sitting in my office watching snow flurries just sort of barely float around in the air, taunting me horribly with thoughts of curling up in bed for a long nap while it blizzards away outside. Le sigh.

I am also -so- not wearing heels again. I wish I didn't have to wear shoes right now. I did something relatively nasty to my right foot, and walking is distinctly painful. There's a lot of swelling between my big toe and second toe and a few blisters, and moving the whole foot is just unpleasant. I'm hoping sitting down a lot today will help. Thankfully, there's not many errands to run this morning. Most of what I have to do is sit at my desk and proofread some class changes.

Angel thoughts )

Ever had one of those mornings where you just need someone to cuddle with? Hmm. I do have a teddy bear in my office.
Earlier this week, I hit McDonalds on the way back from an errand and grabbed a bacon ranch grilled chicken salad, because hey, I'm -trying- this whole eating healthier thing! Shh, never mind that I got a Coke with it too. ;) Anyhow, I get back, the chicken is fine, but the lettuce was alternately frozen or icky slimey. I was so wigged out, I actually went to the McDonalds website and filled out the complaint/feedback form, never really expecting a response. Yesterday, I got an email from one of their customer service people apologizing. I was surprised, but not overly so, and pleased. Just now though, the regional manager for the store I went to called me and asked me to explain the situation, and was all about making amends. She's sending me several coupons for free food, and is going to personally check out the salad storage system at that store.

Holy moley. Someone's doing something! Yaaay! So, kudos to McDonalds for taking time to read their mail, respond to it promptly, and then do something. I am way impressed. :)
