Car. Grr. Argh.
Jan. 20th, 2004 08:30 amSo Saturday afternoon I get in the car, and it's nasty cold outside. I start down the road in our complex towards the main road, and the car doesn't want to shift into higher gears (automatic tranmission, my first mistake). With a little babying and letting off the gas, it shifts begrudgingly, all the way on up to normal road speeds. Once it finally warmed up? Presto, no more problems. On Sunday, Dean and I are out running errands, and first off, same problem. Again, it warms up and life is good. Today, I went out and warmed the car up first, which helped a lot. The shifting was a little sluggish, but only marginally. Guh. So, I have an appointment to take it in Thursday at 2pm, and until then I get to baby it along and pray it's nothing too awful. I'd be less worried, but this is our only vehicle. Thankfully, it's still well under warranty. Unfortunately, Geico only covers rentals if the car is in for repairs from an accident. Boo, Geico! Anyhow, think happy thoughts!
