Not dead yet! I think I'll go for a walk!
Mar. 8th, 2004 12:04 pmMaybe a slow walk, though. I know it's been a while since I posted, and the reason is that I'm a) lazy, and b) sick as a dog. Well, I was. I had an acute sinus infection that's merrily traipsed its way down into my lungs. I saw the doc and got meds though, so now at least I feel better, even if I still sound like a TB victim at times and I get tired easily. I have to admit, though, I felt all sorts of loved and warm fuzzy when my mother called me on Friday night just to check on me because I hadn't posted in several days. Thank you, Mom! And see, I am alive! :)
It was a good weekend though. Saturday we wandered around the Concord Pike mall so we could have Chick Fil'A for lunch, then headed down to White Marsh for dinner at Fuddruckers. Folks in the area? Skip the Fuddruckers there. The food is as godly as ever, don't get me wrong! But there isn't enough seating, and there's no place to wait for a table. People just wander around through the dining area looking pitiful at people at tables who are nearly done eating. Still, a Fuddrucker's burger is a thing of beauty, and I got all the veggies in the world with it, which was nice. Yesterday we decided an adventure was in order, so we hopped in the car and drove down to southern Delaware to Lewes Beach. From there, we took the ferry to Cape May, New Jersey and back again. It's a grand total of about 4 hours at sea (we hit strong winds coming back to DE that slowed the trip), and it was wonderful just to be out in the wind, with all the water and sunshine. The trip back got bitterly cold, so we spent much of it inside curled up in one of the booths with drinks (Pepsi and hot tea, nothing wild), and watched the sun set over the ocean. Preeeetty. :)
Best of all, I got a call from my mother yesterday while we were out on the ferry. My baby brother is coming home! Squeeeee! He'll be getting back into the States on 3/25, and Dean and I are going to try to make it up there for the family reception to welcome him home!
