All too appropriate. ;) I am a goddess! Fear my bunny!
I think I can make it now, the grading's done!
I can see all essays now off my plate!
Gone are the paper stacks that had me down...
It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiney day!

Oh, yeah, happy me! Yesterday, while exhausting, was also really productive. Best of all...it's -done-! I did the supreme in procrastination, and I'm not proud of it. I graded nothing - nothing at all until yesterday, and I had to give it all back last night. Um, bad me. Anyhow, I got up early and Dean and I drove to Philadelphia together as I had a training conference to be at. I took my grading with me and I graded before the conference (I was an hour early) and during breaks. I read a little during the training, but only during parts that were on how to use the PC, not the Smartboard itself. I managed to read, mark, and comment about 40 essays yesterday. Whew! Everything is done, recorded, and handed back to my students. All that remains is their research papers and final exam, and that's not for another 3 weeks. Yaaay!

The training session was fantastic! It was on SmartBoard technology, which is essentially an electronic white board that can be written on in all different colors. The screen senses touch and acts like a touch screen monitor for the PC, and in turn the PC is hooked up to a projector that broadcasts to the screen. It's the same technology they use to draw Xs and Os all over a screen at a football game. I am in love! This is some -snazzy- technology, and I want one of my own! It didn't hurt that the instructor was vastly cute, very Canadian, and really believed in what he was teaching. His accent had me pinned for a bit, since it isn't the Canadian accent I'm used to hearing, which is I'm guessing the Ontario sort of accent. He's from Calgary, and there were definitely a lot more Scottish undertones to his words. Frankly, he reminded me of a six foot Billy Boyd, and I was not arguing. But then there was this other guy who was even better, and he came along and took me out to lunch. Thank you, sweetie! We tried to go to TGI Fridays, but we got tired of sitting at our table with no waitress in sight, so we got up and left and went to Subway. After training, Dean was able to get off work early, and he drove home while I reviewed my notes for class.

Class went well, and it was very, very good to get all those essays handed back. I'm constantly amazed by my students. By last night, they were supposed to have finished their research and written an outline. I had one girl write the essay itself, and I had several people give me shocked looks for the idea their research should be finished. They've had three weeks to -do- this research, and I know they didn't just mishear the assignment. I met with each of them individually! Pfft. Silly people.

Then it was time to drag home finally about 9pm, make tomato soup and sandwiches for dinner, and watch Angel. Iiiiinteresting. Very interesting! )

Today is a little cloudy, but no rain! Woohoo! My boss is taking us out to lunch today, theoretically, and then I'm hitting the gym after work. Still undecided if I'm doing weights or the elliptical trainer, but I don't have time for both (or energy really, yow!) Now, though, I'm off to actually *gasp* work! Happy Thursday all!
