Thud?

So I'm in class last night, getting the final up on the overhead, handing back and collecting papers. One of my students is sitting, quietly sorting through his stuff, and then I hear this -thud-. The poor man had passed out, fallen from his chair and whanged his head -hard- on the ground, hard enough to bleed. Thankfully two of the other students already there were nurses, and they both jumped in to help. The guy woke up in about 2 minutes, and I'd already been to get help and was back by then. He declined 911 help, but at least he let me make him postpone his final and have his girlfriend come pick him up, poor man. Think good thoughts for him, folks. Evidently he's passed out without obvious reason before, and is going to the doctor for it next week. He's a good person, and I'm worried about him.

Ironically, one of the options they had for the final was to write a cause and effect essay with a topic about 'Injuries'. ;)
