So, today I cried
Mar. 8th, 2006 04:53 pmThere was a card in my school mailbox today. This is what it said:
"Ms. Feazell,
My daughter is ******. School can be a challenging place for her, but you have given her a reason to be excited about school. Every day when she comes home from a school day that has included your class she is energized. Music class is the first thing she tells me about, and she has such a spark in her eye as she talks about it. When you taught about Handel, she sang "Hall-a-hoo-ya" all weekend. She also expressed a great interest in the opera that you showed. I am so glad that you joined the Deer Creek staff. Thank you so much for making a difference in my daughter's day."
I read this in the workroom, and burst into tears. My kids just gave me two days of nonstop hard work, singing their hearts out. They're the ones that did all the work, and I am so proud of them I don't even have words. And -then- I get this card? Oh yeah, I cried.
I have the best job in the world. I just do.
...Well, if I could remember not to conduct while wearing 2" heels all day. My feet hurt. But my soul is so happy right now, I could care less. :)
