It's over. The Women is now a memory at the theatre. Last night we had our, in my opinion, rather successful closing night, then struck the set. The whole run was a lot of work, a lot of silliness, a lot of amazing experiences. But more than anything, it was a huge learning experience. I learned more about acting from this one show than anything else in my life. The weird thing is, everyone was bemoaning how sad they were that it's over. I'm not sad at all. It was a fantastic experience and one I'm entirely grateful for, but now it's over. I'm content with that. I am looking forward to auditions for Merrry Wives of Windsor in June, but I'm not exactly holding my breath. There's only four female parts in the show, and even if they gender bend some of the male roles, I'm well aware of just how many fabulous actresses there are out there. Besides, how pessimistic can I be when I'm staring a whole summer off in the face, the first one in seventeen years? Woohoo! Well, almost a whole summer. I'm doing 2 weeks of theatre camp teaching vocals to the little bitty kiddos for three hours a day.

Today was the cast party, but I skipped it to go to dinner with my family as an early celebration for Dean and Kim's birthdays, both coming up this week. So now I'm totally overfull and sugar-high along with being exhausted, but I snagged a really wonderful nap after that. Tomorrow starts the last month of school. Rejoice! I love my job, I do. I'm contracted to teach music at my school again next year. But I am so looking forward to time off. Whew!
