Update and Meme

Blame the update on
tajnyj, who inspired me to do so. Blame the meme on
ebiannah! Okay, blame is a strong word. Personally, I think they both deserve cookies. Freshly baked. :)
To say that life's been busy lately would be an understatement so huge as to be laughable. I do not sit down at work pretty much all day except for my 1/2 hour lunch. This is not a hardship, as I adore my job to a level I never dreamed possible! Still, it leaves a lack of free time. The last month has been one long string of rehearsals for Beauty and the Beast, most lasting upwards of 4 hours at a time, almost every evening. Yesterday was my first day off in a very long time, and aside from a short stint shopping with Dean, I slept. A lot. I'm still fighting off a sinus infection, but thanks to meds, I still have a voice.
Lately, I've been lucky to get a chance to spend 5 minutes a day checking my email, and given the combination of the new life setup and internet wackiness, I'm seriously having to ponder any chance I have at having an active online presence again. I need to think about it, because it would break my heart to hurt people who have been such wonderful friends, who have given me so many chances, encouraged me, and just been kind and delightful. I'm afraid to hurt anyone, but reality is making itself very very clear lately. I just don't know if life will change back to more quiet, or if I want it to now.
Anyhow! Meme!
Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have less than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.
Bugs Bunny – Despite my Disney fascination, I really love old Bugs Bunny cartoons the best, particularly the ones made by Chuck Jones or Fritz Freleng. I think my favorite may well be “The Rabbit of Seville.”
Cowboy Bebop – While I like anime, I just don’t really keep up with it. This was the one show I went googoo for gaga over for a while. I mean, c’mon, for an animated guy, Spike is hot!
Gardening – I tried to do organic gardening this summer, and my plants initially grew up gorgeous and lush, then got eaten to nothing by bugs. I’m trying again next summer with new stuff I learned.
Meditation – This is my form of prayer, relaxation, and just basically regaining my balance. I try to do at least ten minutes a day.
Opera – Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. Sounds like cats screeching. But I like it! My basic vocal training is all classical, so I have a bad tendency of singing along with my opera CDs.
Sleeping – This is perhaps my greatest talent in the world! I fall asleep quickly, I sleep deeply and do not wake up for minor noises. In the morning, while it takes me maybe a half hour to really wake up, but then I’m a disturbingly chipper morning person. I also excel at naps.
Teaching – This is what I am, what I do for a living. I is a teacher. I did be an English teacher once upon a time.
The Velveteen Rabbit – This is my favorite children’s story of all time. I feel love is the most important connection that can be made, and when we bring joy and love to another life, we are transformed to something beyond the reality we know. Which is all philosophical grown-up speak. I just love that the bunny becomes real!
Yoga – Something I haven’t done nearly enough of lately, but yoga keeps me sane…literally. It balances my body and mind, helps me think more clearly, and keeps my emotions calm for the most part. I haven’t done yoga for about a month now, and I can really, really tell.
