That's what my body has decided I should hear loud and clear. I started having twinges of back pain yesterday. By the time I woke up today, my entire upper back was a knotted mess, and one nerve pinched so badly by extreme knots, I can't turn my head from side to side. So I hit the mall for a Chinese tu-na massage, fabulous with acupressure and energy redirection. Glorious stuff, and it eliminated a lot of the radiant pain, if not the two pinched nerves. The second one was hiding in all the stiff muscles. So I'm staying home tomorrow and keeping myself drugged. Which I am, at the moment, so to speak. A lovely little prescription pill that dims the pain slightly but far more makes me care about it less. I'm a bit dopey, to say the least, and apologize if I type anything unbelievably offensive. Misspellings are to be expected. I'll run a spell check.

So let's see...life as it stands.

Beauty and the Beast is so ovah! I dry-cleaned the parts of my costume that needed such, turned the mass of costumage into the lady on Thursday, and now I am done. I have nothing left, owe nothing to anyone at the Palace. And I'm really looking forward to auditioning for the Women in February at Sam Bass. Good people, good play. I need to work on my acting between now and then.

Houserific stuff proceeds apace. We have come to terms on a price on a new place that's quite lovely. The inspector gets to have his say on Wednesday. If he doesn't see any massive damage (a'la the last house like 'replace the roof and all the siding'), we'll gladly take the place. It's got some seriously lovely house karma.

School is good. I'm tired of in-service meetings that apply to me in no way shape and form. I'd rather be in the classroom with my kids. Breaks my heart that I won't be tomorrow, but I'm leaving some good things for them to do. I hope it all works out!

The weekend was positively lovely. Friday night was dinner at The Tilted Kilt with [livejournal.com profile] dfeazell and [livejournal.com profile] mattcwood. This really illuminated the real differences in the way men and women so inclined look at other women. Men: "Did you -see- that?" Me: "Um, no? Sorry, I was looking at that." *Men left staring at me as if I were alien.*
Nope, just different. I still liked the place though. They make the most killer Lemon Drop martini ever, and the waitress was an absolute sweetheart. I wish this pub a long and prosperous life.

Saturday we bought a mattress! We left the old and decrepit one in Delaware. Now we own a king-sized pillowtop with some extras. They're more than willing to hold it for us until we move into the house, which is nice to know. Yay! We also went to the La-Z-Boy gallery and fell in love. There is a specific recliner that is so beautifully, soul-sucking comfortable, all the other recliners were far inferior to it. I wish to make two of these the soul furniture in the den. Two La-Z-Boys, an end table, a TV, and a laptop stand. Yah. I know my priorities in life!

We also saw [livejournal.com profile] tajnyj's show "Black Coffee" on Saturday night, and it was delightful. Everyone did a great job, and best of all was Tajnyj, who was masterfully in charge and even so took time to give me hugs. :)

I should've snipped all this behind a tag. Blame it on the things that make me calm at the moment. ;)

This post brought to you by the letters Y, M, Q, and by the pharmaceutical Ambien. Sleep well, Snuffie!

Kilts were made for men. They need men at that place, wearing kilts PROPERLY.

Then we'd have something to look at! LOL! I did take a peek at the menu. Sounds interesting. If I ever get [livejournal.com profile] oldnate out that way, we'll all have to go.

Hee! See, I'm not arguing this a bit! Although I'm frankly all for equal-opportunity kiltage. But if they had men in kilts also, I think that'd just be flat out perfect. :)
