Tonight was the combined Cedar Park HS, Cedar Park MS, Naumann Elementary, and our elementary choir concert. We all sang one song together. Then Naumann sang two songs. Then the middle school sang two. Then the HS's top madrigal choir got up and did two (OMGWOWAMAZING!) numbers. My kids didn't do anything by themselves as we just formed our choir 4 weeks ago to learn the joint music for this concert. Then we all finished with one song all together.
Oh. My. God. Lots of squirrelly kids here and there, but you know what? Not mine! Not mine!!!! Mine paid attention, sang their hearts out, got on and off the risers very diligently, and I am so proud of them, I'm nearly in tears! I am bouncing all over the place like a maniac!
Several kids told me they were sad this was done because they wanted to sing more. Several more said they wanted to sound like the high schoolers someday. I am honestly in awe of how inspired and how excited they are by all this. The kids totally inspire me, and I hope I can help them get to where they want to be. They've sure got what it takes!
My kids rock! I am so, so proud of them! And next year, we are -so- having a school choir. :)
