I had such good intentions! I really did! I was going to do laundry. I was going to do dishes. I was going to go grocery shopping. I was going to finish my grading. I was going to finish sewing. I was going to get my training forms filled out. Guess what? Nada. Zip. Zilch. I did diddly-squat. I'm going to be a schmuck and blame it all on the weather, too. It was just too nastily hot to move, barely. I made the mistake of going out mid-day on Saturday. We hit Walmart (two nifty, cheap work shirts, oh-so touchy feely soft knit!), Burger King, Gateway, and Best Buy. I'm presuming it's just danged difficult to AC a place the size of Best Buy, because it was miserable in there, to the point of dizzying. Getting home was a major relief, and I scored a tie-dye mouse pad! Sweet!

Saturday night was far, far better! The gang got together and saw Reign of Fire. Plot: Not bad. Actors: Oh, be still my heart! Christian Bale with a beard, no shirt, pretending to be Darth Vader. Wowee! Special Effects: Zowie! Script: Shoot the scriptwriter. Shoot him now. The lines were nothing short of cheesy. Still, it was pure entertainment, and anything with dragons is good, even if they're evil. Forget that. Anything with guys riding horses is generally good. Besides, I like post-apocalyptic fairy tales. Who doesn't?

Sunday I played Sims. All day. How come two Sims will be madly in love one day, and the next have cooties?

Today is the day of interviews for the new Director. I've already met the first two interviewees. First was nice, seemed intelligent. Younger than I am, though, which I'm not sure I like. The position really requires maturity, dedication, and the ability to handle stress. The second was more mature, very self-confident. I liked her a lot. Looking forward to meeting the next two!

On the down side, Figaro's voice is completely gone. The poor baby can barely croak. He's never had laryngitis before. I need to call the vet and find out what's going on. Maybe he's just hissed and meowed at Gepetto too many times. He's not coughing or sneezing, thank goodness. I'm still fretting, no surprise. Think happy thoughts for the kitty!

Whew!

Just talked to the vet's office. They say since the Fig kitty isn't coughing or sneezing, and is still eating and drinking normally, his laryngitis is nothing to worry about. I'm just supposed to keep a close eye on him. Whew! You can bet I will!
