Okay, so after my rant yesterday about kiddos, I spent an entire day at work seeing nonstop -good- children. That -so- did wonders for my attitude. Man, I was grumpy! Obviously I don't hate kids, I'm just boggling at my siblings-in-law, and even then, not all of them. So work yesterday really helped put things back in perspective. I still don't want any of my own rugrats, but I like other people's kiddos.
Work itself was a reaffirming experience too yesterday. Now how often do I say that? Granted, I worked an hour extra (no biggie, I'm taking off at 3 today). Still, I expected schedule madness, snack madness, paperwork madness, etc. What I came back to was a perfect schedule, the snack schedule done, most of the paperwork filed, and an easy set of instructions left by the boss (who is now on vacation). I was so grateful, I -very- nearly burst into tears, and very happy ones. I didn't, but every time I'd look over at my less-than-overflowing in-box, I'd get all happy and sniffly. Huge, huge kudos to Mr.
nitav763 and Miss Jenny for oh-my-god unbelievable fantastic work, and everyone else who helped!
And I get to work this morning, and there's yet -more- warm fuzzies. We're supposed to give the kiddos waffles for snack this morning as the grain portion of the menu. Not enough waffles. Whoops. The preschool lead teacher was making muffins for a kid's birthday (I think), and just said she'd just make extra muffins to round out the snack portions. Miss Beth is -so- the absolute best. Woman works her tail off, and then offers to make muffins. She's my hero for today!
Still tired, though, unsurprisingly. How tired? I have 20 pages of HP left. I forgot to read them last night. Forgot. I brought the book to work with me today.
