Holy moley! I know criminals!

Well, the word finally was published today just -why- my college has utterly revamped its cash control procedures and gotten so danged anal about who handles money. It turns out two of the former employees in the Business Officed each embezzled more than $100,000 a piece and are now under arrest. The big shocker to me was not just that these people could and would do this, but that I know both of them! Granted, I don't know the former Bus. Office manager very well, but I knew the former third party rep. very well. She was really one of the rocks I leaned on when Dean was sick, since she'd had cancer a few years before and was really able to give me some great advice. It's just weird to think that someone I liked and respected could be capable of such a thing. I guess this explains why she quit and moved to Alaska though. ;)

In health news, I'm down again today, although nowhere near as far as last week, just kind of achey and sleepy. I just took Dayquil though, so hopefully that'll help the coughing. Feh. Evil plague.

Easily amused

Yeah, so I'm smug. I recognized a couple references in recent User Friendly strips to obscurish Canadian independent bands. Never mind that it's Arrogant Worms and Moxy Fruvous, and that most of the people I know like them too. I'm still smug. I shall go and have Werther's to celebrate! Okay, so I have a Werther's next to my keyboard, and this is a convenient excuse to eat it. Yeah, I'm easily amused. ;)
