Boom! Crash! The lightning flashed!

Which is exactly why I've been invisible lately. We had a nasty lightning storm about a week and a half ago, and we got a few direct strikes. It was bad enough that we lost: cable modem, wireless router, my sound card, my mother's network card, the television, the telephone, part of the hot water heater, the dishwasher, and probably other stuff we haven't found yet. ;)

In other words, for a while, we were completely out of touch with reality.

We've got lots of these things back now. Just yesterday we got some decent internet connectivity, but only on my mother's computer which is hardwired into the cable modem. We still don't have a wireless router yet, so I'm still offline. This isn't so bad, since I seem to have caught the crud half my class is fighting through. Cute little kindergartners are walking germ factories!

See, I started teaching kindergarten, full time! I have 21 kids, and I'm subbing officially for a lady who'se gone out on maternity leave. I'll be in this position until mid-May, and I'm getting good feedback about a possible full-time permanent position at this school next year. Yaaaay!
