Spring break is dust in the wind...sorta
Mar. 20th, 2006 11:10 pmWell, it was, kinda. It just went so fast! There were doctor's appointments and shopping, and biggest of all was baby Gabriel being born! Squee! He is the most beautifulest baby I know, I swear. Okay, so he's the only one I know right now, but he's my nephew and I am allowed a certain modicum of bias. Evidently he's a prodigy too, as according to family members, he said his first word today (at 4 days of age): Yup. This goes well with his daddy's first word, which was a very clear and cheerful Hi! Only that was at 6 months, not 4 days.
I get to dye my hair brown this week. Pray for me, folks. I've been a redhead so long, I don't remember how to be a brunette! Eeeek!
I will probably startle my students, but they will live. They, by the way, are wonderful! But then we all knew that. I got oodles of hugs from returning kids today. They came bouncing into my room, with multiple renditions of "We missed you!" I missed them too! That's the only downfall, is that I only get to keep kids for 9 weeks at a time. Then again, that's good too, or I'd have 900 students at a time instead of 300. I figure if I remember half the school's names, I'm doing good.
Randomly, yoga made my shoulders hurt today. We've started doing the Five Tibetian Rites as a warmup, then a full Kundalini practice. I are -wiped-. But aside from my shoulders, it's a good wiped. A good night's sleep will do marvels. Right now I'm downshifting with a cup of decaff Earl Grey and waiting for the cats to finish dinner. I may play solitaire. Don't hold me back! I'm a wild woman, I am! ;)
