Harrumpf. Only not really.
Aug. 7th, 2006 10:54 pmToday I went to the Cedar Park Public Library and got myself a card. See, I just finished reading the first Harry Dresden book by Jim Butcher, and did so wish to read more! Yay! So rather than pay $8 a paperback, I figure I'll hie myself to the library. These are popular books, right? The library's bound to have them!
Hah. Hahahahaha. They have one book by the man, and it's the first book in his high fantasy series, which is seldom my cup of tea. Ah, well.
On the other hand, I found FireRose by Mercedes Lackey, which I'm already halfway through and finding delightful. Fantasy, but set in historical America, very cool. Also, I got three music CDs (Beethoven, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff respectively), and a DVD set of the entire first season of Fraggle Rock.
Then I took myself to Chipotle and got tacos and iced tea, and proceded to spend two hours on their patio enjoying mildly cooler weather (only got up to 90 or so today! Yay!) and reading to my heart's content. My lesson for the day, poppets? Even if you don't satisfy your original desires, poke around a bit. You might just find something even better. :)
