Warning. Do not come near. Avoid at all costs. The poster is a plague victim.

Yup, that's me. As Dean so affectionately calls me: Leper. Except my skin is fine. Tuesday night saw my grading get all finished, and I headed off to bed a little after 1am. By 3:30am, I was wide awake, and proceded to...well, to put it delicately, be rather ill until 6am. The result was complete muscle strain from my jaws down to my hips. I ended up staying home yesterday, of course, and hitting the pain medicine, which thankfully stayed down with small amounts of ice water. Still, sleeping was kinda dicey. Imagine working out -way- too hard, and all the lactic acid hits the worked out muscles. That's me, and it's a really weird feeling in the jaws, to say the least. My half-asleep thought this morning when I realized my throat and jaws were hurting was "Well, Dean's out of luck." And then I went back to sleep. ;)

Naturally, food has not been top of my list. I managed some Easy Mac last night, and tonight I made Dean take me to Denny's. I wanted desperately to go watch Survivor with [livejournal.com profile] moobabe and [livejournal.com profile] toasterwiz, but was just too afraid of spreading the plague germs to them. I did work today, just because we were so short handed, I wanted at least to be able to cover the front of the building even if I couldn't be in the classroom. I got a lot done too. We have several new children, and I got them all added to our master roster, put on the photographic release list, and updated their files. I still have more to do, but it was a good start. I even got the billing done. Mainly it was low-key steady tasks I didn't have to think about a lot, since I couldn't take any painkillers at work aside from ibuprofen. By the time I left at 4pm, I got home, and just about collapsed until I had to hit the train station to get Dean.

Survivor was fun though! I'll miss the person who's gone, but not overmuch. I certainly see why the annoying one wasn't gotten rid of just yet. It's a shame that the series will be over next week, just two weeks after I stop having to work on Thursday nights. Ah, well, plenty to keep me busy.

Speaking of being busy, I have been -such- the Christmas slack. I have a few gifts bought, but not most of them, and haven't mailed anything off yet. I take that back. Christmas cards are off and gone, and I'm thankful that's done, at least! Dean and I are planning to head out shopping again this Saturday, probably most of the day, and just do the serious marathon of Christmas shopping. I haven't decorated at all yet, or even put up any of the cards I've gotten. I'm not even sure where my Christmas CDs are. Thankfully, none of this is because I'm bah-humbug, but rather I've just been too busy to remember what time of year it is. Gotta change that tomorrow! Woo! Okay, so I have no idea what's happening tomorrow. I may just come home after work and sleep the rest of the muscle aches off, but it's better than worrying about what grading has to be done.

Husband points for Dean yesterday though. He called to ask if I wanted anything on the way home, as I could not drive to take him to the train station. Far, far too shivery. I asked for 7-Up, which he brought home, both a 2 liter and a smaller bottle that was already cold. Yay him! Of course, he did make me promise I wouldn't come anywhere near him, but that's warranted.

And now for hot water, pain meds, and sleep. Figaro is crawling all over me and sticking his nose in my ear. This is the universal cat signal (for my cats at least) for 'Get off the clicky thing, and go be a big warm pillow, Food-Lady!!" Who am I to argue?
