Emotional day

I had laid down to take a nap this afternoon, and was pretty much out when my phone rang. My mom was primarily calling to chat, but she had pretty disturbing news. My brother is now being deployed. He's not allowed to say where, and he's not allowed to say exactly when, but he just had all of his major vaccinations against anthrax and smallpox and the like. Thankfully, he's not 101st Airborne, so he's not first in. He's 10th Mountain Infantry, and more specifically part of a group that goes in to rescue hostages and do urban counter-terrorism stuff. Doesn't change that when I think of my brother, I do not think of a grown man of nearly 24 that's 6'3" and could run for viking poster child. I think of a two-year-old with blueberry yogurt smeared all over his hands, face, and bib, and still downing it with utter delight. Mom says he's kinda scared, but also excited about going to fight the bad guy.
So after this, I go back to the computer, and get
moobabe's news. Major inhale gasp, instant happy tears, lots of squeaking and happy noises! So the mild sniffliness of hearing about my brother shoots -staright- up into poinging and absolute elation! Talk about a booster for a positive attitude! I could not be more thrilled for Moobabe and MooMan! I've been so worried about the whole situation, and to see this massive stress just lift all in one swoop is the most amazing thing. I've been poinging about literally all evening. I'm doing this emotional Snoopy dance, and I keep wanting to do the Kermit the Frog 'Yaaaay!' waving my arms over my head. Yes, I am an emotional melange of 70s and 80s children's pop culture. ;)
Lisa Moment Of The Day: I need groceries. I go, while the chili is in the crock pot. I get to the checkout, get all my groceries on the conveyer, then realize I have left my wallet at home. -Doh-. I had to let the checker unload my groceries (she offered) while I ran home and back, then paid for everything.
Anyway, it's a bit past midnight, and I'm thinking...gasp, sleep before 2am! Miracle! Goodnight, all!
