Where's Lisa?

Sorta like Where's Waldo, but even harder to find! I'm short, and easily lost in a crowd. ;) So yeah, I've been kinda hard to find the last few days. The happy fun cold has not gone away on its own, as I was really hoping it would. By this morning, I was still not terribly coherent, so I headed to work to get them squared away, then up to the doctor's office. I told the nurse I'd been running a fever, but took Tylenol two hours before to drop it down. She made a rather cheerful startled sound after taking my temperature. It's remarkable just -how- fast a doctor will come in to see you if you've got a 100 degree fever -after- taking Tylenol. The nurse figures I'm runnin 102-103 without meds. Anyhow, skipping the icky symptoms, I now have a rather impressive pharmacy bill, and am thankful for prescription insurance. I have the standard antibiotic, a nasal spray (-not- happy feeling at first, but my god does it help!), and an inhaler and a spacer for wheezing. Woo! Medicated to the hilt, baby!
The doc also finally prescribed me an Epipen, given my allergies to peanuts and soy. To those of you that live near me, just so you know, if hell freezes over and I actually do have a reaction beyond the normal 'hack hack hey those fries were cooked in peanut oil!', the Epipen will be kept in my purse. It's easy, too. Take it out of the yellow container, pop off the grey lid, and swing the puppy at my outer thigh and press the end, and watch Lisa stop turning blue! Yes, yes, blue is a pretty color, but I've got a great blue sweater I can wear to appease blue fans. ;)
Today is my little brother's 24th birthday. He doesn't have computer access right now, and he doesn't read LJ (although I should poke him to get into it when he gets back), but Happy Birthday, Eric!
Requisite thoughts on the war: Not much? It's here. All the naysaying in the world won't stop it. So whether I approve or not will change nothing. Well, not until that lovely Thursday in November. ;) Eric was originally supposed to go to Turkey. Now word is he'll go to Africa. But he still thinks he's headed to Kuwait or Iraq. Wherever he goes, the best I can do is pray for him and everyone else involved on both sides.
Survivor is on! On a Wednesday! Yay! Rob is a sneaky bastard, and I still want the rocket scientist to be my cabana boy!
