The concert and fashion show went -great-! The kids had a great time, the audience had a great time, and all was good! I goofed at the beginning, of course. I looked at the size of the theater, and immediately began speaking loudly enough to be heard by everyone -- not realizing there was a live microphone on the podium. -Doh-. Thankfully, there was no feedback, and it only took me a minute to figure it out. Still, doh! The kids were -brilliant- though! The infants were far too cute dancing around, and the toddlers were all bouncy when they weren't running to mommy and daddy. The preschoolers were the big hit though. They did a fashion show that just had us all in stitches. We had a Harry Potter-esque wizard, a little guy dressed as a businessman (although I swear he looked like mini-Will Smith in MIB), a fire fighter, and lots of others. Perhaps cutest of all was our littlest preschooler who was in a suit, a doctor's overcoat, fake glasses, a stethoscope, and a scrubs hair cap, all dressed up as a doctor. He was just painfully cute. After the fashion show, the preschoolers sang some of the songs they do every day, and the audience got into it. There's nothing -quite- as funny as watching an audience of parents do 'Too-ta-tah-tah', which involves holding your arms in at your sides, hands and thumbs up, legs apart, knees together, backside stuck out, eyes closed, tongue stuck out, and turning around waggling one's bottom singing the chorus. Or trying to at least.
We were back in the Center by about 11:30, so everyone had time to each lunch and get settled to nap. Our amazing and glorious boss bought us all pizza for lunch, and I chipped in and gave the driver a good-sized tip. Well deserved too! I called Grotto's at 10am, gave our order, and asked if it could be here at 12:15pm. We're not easy to find, and there's construction going on at our street. The guy was on time to the -minute-. I was so impressed I gave him the whole $20 as a tip.
Of course, now, post-pizza and having garnered another cup of hot chocolate, I'm all sorts of ready for a nap. Someone want to tell me why I wore high heels again? Cause I ain't wearing 'em. They're off on the floor a few feet away under a chair.
