This was a day off?

Okay, so it was, really. We got to sleep in, which was really lovely aside from the cats viewing this as time to abuse us both. Figaro repeatedly tried to nest in my hair from about 6am until 9am. Still, it did make for a pleasantly lazy morning. We then got up and got out and about. The Sable got cleaned out, and we took it up to the Goodwill on Kirkwood Highway. Despite the manager forgetting we were there at first, everyone was exceedingly nice and friendly, and we were able to transfer the car over with very little trauma. After this, lunch at Toxic Hell ensued, and lo, it was tasty. Then we headed off to our apartment office and signed another lease, since ours is up. Then it was back home for a bit before we headed off to Dean's doctor's appointment.
Dean now goes to the doctor every four months. The appointment was for 3pm. We saw the doctor at 4:15pm. It was worth it though, as once again we got the happy news: Dean is still in remission! Yaaaay! All his bloodwork levels are way normal, and there are no symptoms of cancer anywhere. He has to have another CT scan in September and more bloodwork, but he'll be having a yearly CT scan for several years to come. In the meantime, we've gotten rid of the dreaded 'chemo car' (the Sable was what Dean drove to and from chemo), and he's in the clear for another four months. Wheeee!
When we got home, there was a massive line of black pickups, SUVs and cars lining the side of our apartment complex. They have now inflated massive black rats, and are chanting something about worker's rights through bullhorns, just outside the entrance to the country club. This entrance is maybe 100 yards from our front door, if that, so it's kinda loud. They're being pretty rude and at times blocking traffic, but the neighborhood kids are having a great time mocking them. I'm just waffling between irritated and amused. I support their right to protest, but not their right to fuck with the traffic in the complex of people coming home from work. Now they're starting to park in the resident parking places. I'm just waiting for someone to call the cops. Heck, if they're still here post-Buffy? I'll call the cops myself. Aaah, and there's the police now! Like any good American, I am going to go stand on my balcony, watch and snicker. ;)

Sounds like y'all had a grand day. So, how'd the rest of the Rat Patrol Protest work out? And did you enjoy Buffy? I did. In my opinion, It was nifty. A little upset about Anya. And since James Marsters has already signed a contract with Angel, I'm looking forward to seeing how they bring him back. Maybe like Wolfram and Hart brought back Darla? Now that Angel runs Wolfram and Hart? And Spike would be more like William because Darla came back human. This could be cool and full of bad poetry.

Date: 2003-05-21 04:52 am (UTC)As for Buffy? Heh. Let's just say I called Joss Whedon a lot of interesting names after staring at the TV in shock. Mainly it was a lot of, "They killed him, but let -her- live? NoooOOOOOooooo!" But you're right. Even CNN says Marsters is supposed to be on Angel next season, so I will be patient and think fluffy haired Spike in green sweater thoughts until then. ;)
