H&R Block - Just my favorite people!
Apr. 23rd, 2005 12:40 pmNo, really! We went and had them do our taxes on April 8th. Federal, fine and dandy. Oh, no, we have to send your state taxes off to have them prepared elsewhere! A week later, we get back the state taxes. We owe Delaware $1200?! Hrwuhh? WTF? Send it back. No, you can't do that. Only I worked in DE, Dean never did. Get the state back -again-, supposedly corrected. Nope, no change. Still owe $1200. Sent back to the main office a third time, this time after the branch close to us is closed. Today I make the 45 minute drive downtown to pick up the supposedly corrected version, and guess what? Still not changes! Whee! They offered to leave their state tax preparer Yet Another Note, but didn't know when he'd be in. I filled out a form to get my money back, brought everything home, looked over the crap they'd done...
They left one pretty blank...'Taxes Paid To Another State'. Gee, like Pennsylvania, where Dean worked? Which they knew because they fricking filled out the PA return? AUGHGHHGH! It took me 20 minutes to print out the forms, fill them out myself, and get them ready to go. And we owe a whopping $100, not $1200.
Pardon me while I foam at the mouth, and realize that H&R Block is not staffed by accountants, but monkeys who know how to use TurboTax. AUGHGHGHGH!
Oh, and our water line into the house broke. We haven't had water since last night.
On the other hand, I've had coffee and donuts, and we're going to see Amityville Horror tonight, with yummy yummy Ryan Reynolds. ;)
